SCHNEIDER EXPANDS INTO THE GERMAN MARKET WITH INVESTMENT IN GLOBALTRANS

Globaltrans

The Schneider Group is expanding by acquiring a stake in the German company Globaltrans Internationale Logistik GmbH. Globaltrans has a high level of expertise and almost 20 years of experience in the logistics industry with a focus on sea freight, air freight and rail freight, as well as complete logistics services. Kay Uwe Gretsch remains shareholder and CEO of Globaltrans.

In July 2020, Schneider Transport entered the German market for the first time by acquiring a stake in the Allgäu logistics and freight forwarding company apriori transport und logistics GmbH. In July 2021, Mercur Südlogistik Speditions GmbH, based in Mannheim, was added. Globaltrans, headquartered in Düsseldorf, is now the perfect complement to these two acquisitions, almost two years after its launch on the German market.

André Strebel, CEO of the Schneider Group, commented: “With Globaltrans we have another ideal partner in Germany to expand our business in the air, sea and rail sector. Globaltrans has a highly professional team and we look forward to working with them.”

Kay Uwe Gretsch, co-partner and CEO of Globaltrans, is looking forward to a long future together: “With the Schneider Group we have found a partner who, just like us, puts the employees and the customers at the centre of the company. At the same time, we can benefit from the group’s large branch network.”
