I have been here in Hong Kong for over half a year now. It’s hard to believe how fast time flies.
As I mentioned in my last post, business in Hong Kong and in Asia is still not going as well as I had hoped. I also hear this from various friends in other industries and also from other freight forwarders. However, business is expected to pick up in Q4. Personally, I am also very much hoping for this. Since my last blog post, I am pleased to say that I have already received a few shipments.
I am currently working very closely with the Director Network Development and General Manager Hong Kong, Fredrik Nyberg. We are trying to win new customers together. Fredrik has been in Hong Kong since 1999 and has built up a huge network since then. Now we are joining forces and trying to write success stories together.Â
In mid-September, FIBS organised the first global conference in Dubai, which I was also able to attend. The event served to get to know our network as well as colleagues from other locations and also to deepen business relationships. Furthermore, we gained insights from specialists from sea freight and air freight and had already planned F2F meetings in advance to hold individual discussions. For me personally, it was also very nice to see my colleagues from the Schneider family again. All in all, the conference was very impressive and informative for me.
