Hello, I am Philipp Kha.

I started my apprenticeship at Schneider in August 2014 and successfully completed it in July 2017. During my studies in Shanghai, I had the opportunity to gain my first experience abroad. In August 2020, I returned to Schneider Basel and am now looking forward to my new challenge at FIBS in Hong Kong. I will be happy to share my impressions and experiences with you here on the blog.

CULINARY HIGHLIGHTS AND NEW BUSINESS CONTACTS

Hello, I am Philipp Kha.

I started my apprenticeship at Schneider in August 2014 and successfully completed it in July 2017. During my studies in Shanghai, I had the opportunity to gain my first experience abroad. In August 2020, I returned to Schneider Basel and am now looking forward to my new challenge at FIBS in Hong Kong. I will be happy to share my impressions and experiences with you here on the blog.

I have now been in Hong Kong for three months. Looking back, on March 6th, I boarded the plane in Switzerland in the evening not knowing exactly what to expect in Asia. Now I have reached the magical number three and I am glad that I took this unique chance. In the past month, a lot has already happened again in my adventure.

I attended my first trade show, HOFEX23, which is an exhibition for food, hotel, and catering supplies. My goal at this fair was to network and see if we could find potential customers. The motto was: every company is a potential customer. Fredrik Nyberg, the General Manager of FIBS Hong Kong, accompanied me as he knows many people in this industry. We were later invited to a private event with the judges of the culinary competitions. It was an incredible experience. In my opinion, attending the trade show made a lot of sense as we were able to make many new contacts.

My work routine has also changed since the last blog post. Currently, I have been busy with client meetings and networking events, and I have already received my first orders. It’s a hectic daily life, but I enjoy the excitement behind it, so it never gets boring.

Two weeks ago, after almost four years, I was finally back in Shanghai, albeit only for four days. However, I was thrilled to see all my old friends again. Of course, I also visited our FIBS office and finally had the opportunity to meet my colleagues in person.

What’s on the agenda for the next few weeks? I have several client meetings and networking events lined up. Additionally, I have planned my first business trips to Shenzhen and Guangzhou.

Apart from work, I’m spending time with many friends. We do a lot of activities together and explore new areas in Hong Kong. In one week, I will have a visit from a good friend, and hopefully, I’ll be able to show her some of the highlights of Hong Kong.
